The legal guardianship of parents ceases the day their children become adult. This law applies as such on the mentally challenged as well, even if they are not toilet trained and totally dependents on others for their lively hood- said Satyendra Saxena President Parents Society of MP for Welfare of Persons with Disability, he is addressing one day workshop on " Legal Guardianship of National trust, Govt. of India is necessary for mentally challenged".
Further he explained - that on natural guardianship the deposit account, other investment in name of such wards or property in this single name, cant be operated upon or managed because of this becoming adult with unsound mind if such wards unfortunately involved in any criminal offence, even because of not understanding, their parents cant seen them unless they are legal guardians duly appointed.
This workshop held at Sarojini Naidu Govt. girls School on Sunday.
