I'm not sure if this does anything for the argument some Americans make about soccer being boring, but either way, it's hard to make the case that this happens in other sports.
During what looks like an adult league match in Germany, the TSV Grunbach takes a goal kick. Routine enough; it happens dozens of times a game. Except that through some physics-defying magic (also acceptable: an ill-timed wind gust) the ball traveled roughly 18 yards before doing a 180 before coming to rest in the TSV Grunbach goal.
This is something I could see Mike Vanderjagt pulling off if he were still in the NFL.
